International Business of the Year - Finalist

For those of you who have been following us recently, you’ll know we were delighted to have been shortlisted for an award at the Scottish Business Awards in Edinburgh last Thursday. We promised to keep you updated during the proceedings but found ourselves in a communications black hole so had no option but to throw ourselves into the serious business of having a good time instead!

And what a good night’s entertainment it was. Lots of glamorously turned out folk and a few well-known faces including Judy Murray, Chris Hoy and even the First Minister. The food was great which was in itself quite an achievement for the catering team with over 2,000 hungry mouths to feed (it was apparently the largest sit down meal in the UK ever!!!). Chris Evans extracted some amazing facts interviewing George Clooney, and Rob Brydon was an amusing host keeping the actual award presentation part of the evening moving swiftly along. And last but by no means least, a phenomenal amount of money was raised for various worthy causes - including Social Bite (founded by the inspiring Josh Littlejohn), and Not On Our Watch - by the end of the evening.

As for the award itself, we were, alas, pipped at the post. That said, we are delighted to have been selected as a finalist for International Business of the Year considering we were up against such strong competition as BrewDog and, eventual winners, The Balmoral Group.

We're tremendously proud of what we've achieved over the last few years and, with a little luck, hope to be making a return visit. Same time next year?
