The centre is now set for a major redevelopment programme which will double the retail footprint of the current centre. The ambitious plans will also renew and revitalise this significant quarter of London into a new “urban village” as part of the emerging town centre. Ensuring the scheme remains relevant to changing retail and consumer demands, the newly enlarged Centre will be a worthy home to the best global brands and experiences whilst retaining its original distinctive local character, personal touch and community appeal.
Our client is seeking to hire an exceptional General Manager to spearhead this complex redevelopment programme and then lead this iconic Centre of the future.
The major challenge of this role will lie in driving the lengthy and complex construction and development project phases – whilst simultaneously keeping the Centre’s current operations running as smoothly as possible and minimising disruption to trading.
The new General Manager will provide inspirational leadership to the shopping centre team, take commercial responsibility for key financial areas of the business and be accountable for the delivery of consistently excellent standards of customer experience. A key focus of this role is to ensure the delivery of extraordinary levels of community focus required in this unique destination. The new General Manager will set and regulate the tone of voice for the destination and will act as lead brand ambassador across all stakeholders, from tenants to transport, from investors to residents.

The successful candidate will possess the personal maturity, gravitas and personality to provide true leadership, securing the best possible performance from colleagues and managing relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders, including tenant brands, contractors, local authority and community groups.
We are looking for a truly customer focused commercial background, which might come from a traditional Retail Shopping Centre or perhaps the worlds of Entertainment, Hotels, Leisure, Events, Resorts, etc.
