Our client is a leading retail asset management firm, acting on behalf of one of the most progressive retail investment houses in Europe.  The investor’s strategy is to acquire established, less well-known, but high potential assets and through the provision of expert consultancy and shrewd investment, convert them into attractive, modern and fashion-forward retail and leisure destinations.

In order to fully realise the aims of this ambitious project, our client now seeks to hire a talented and dynamic General Manager for one of their properties.

The property in question is a 175,000 square foot, open centre and key local asset and community hub in the South West of England.  Located in the heart of the town centre with 45 units, an attractive mix of retail and food and beverage offers and large car park.

In this key role you will be responsible for supervising the Centre Management team, building strong working relationships with retail tenants/brands, and creating an effective retail dashboard to achieve the best possible levels of tenant engagement, guest experience and retailer profitability.

This job is all about driving business performance. To succeed you must be an excellent communicator, a superb influencer and presenter of ideas and strategy.  As well as a robust, self-motivated and highly-capable leader, you will be able to identify, plan for and prioritise issues and make the tough decisions.

Candidates will have at least five years’ experience in a retail management role in either department stores, large format retailing, centre management or an area / regional management position. An understanding of the dynamics of trading and managing relationships within a Shopping Centre is an essential ingredient of this role.
